Community Guidelines
This community was intentionally created to feel different from the noise many of us experience on traditional platforms. To keep it valuable for everyone, we ask that you follow a few simple guidelines.
Be Respectful & Professional
This is a professional space.
Different perspectives are welcome, and every interaction should stay respectful and constructive.
We’re here to support one another, not to debate or “win” conversations.
Contribute, Don’t Just Consume
This is a shared space.
Ask questions, share insights, offer support, and engage with others. The value of this community lies in its participation.
Give more than you take, and you’ll get more in return.
No Self-Promotion or Selling
This is not a promotional space, but we do recognize valuable opportunities worth sharing within the community. To keep the space balanced and relevant:
- Direct promotion of services, programs, or events is not allowed in the main community feed.
- If you have a training, event, opportunity, or resource you’d like to share, please reach out for admin approval first.
- Job postings and hiring opportunities are welcome in the Resource Share topic.
Our goal is a space that puts connection and value first, while still making room for meaningful opportunities shared in a thoughtful and organized way.
Leave Politics at the Door
The TRC Lounge is for our work. Please don’t post, comment on, or debate politics here. That includes political parties, elections, candidates, and political or government issues that aren’t tied to our mission.
News that directly affects our work, like a change to housing counseling rules or funding, is welcome when it’s shared to help each other serve clients, not to argue sides.
We all feel the weight of what’s happening in the world, whatever side we’re on. This just isn’t the place for it, and posts that are off mission may be removed.
Keep the Focus on the Work
This space was intentionally created to support professionals in housing, financial, and community services. To keep it focused and valuable for everyone, conversations should stay centered on:
- Professional growth
- Industry-related topics
- Shared challenges and solutions
Off-topic conversations belong outside this space.
Sharing Videos & Media
To keep the platform running smoothly, please share videos using external links (YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, etc.) rather than uploading files directly.
When sharing content, prioritize relevance and value over volume.
Respect Privacy & Confidentiality
Be mindful when sharing client stories or organizational details. Do not share confidential or identifying information.
This is a space built on trust. Let’s protect that.
Keep It Constructive
We all face challenges in this work.
This space is here to support growth and problem-solving. When offering feedback or suggestions, keep it helpful and solution-oriented.
